And just like that, January is almost over...
So many great things have been happening for Minimoc lately and we couldn't be happier!
The support of family and friends, along with all of YOU have made these past few months so rewarding!
I don't proclaim myself to be a writer or a blogger but I do want to continue to keep you in the loop of what is happening with Minimoc. With a few (or maybe more than a few) words and some photos, I hope you can feel as though you are a part of it, because you are!
December was a market-filled month where I was a vendor the Urban Market at Highstreet in Abbotsford, hosted by the incredible team of women at Spruce Collective. I cannot rave about those ladies enough! Their teamwork along with all of their unique talents combined makes for an amazing shop as well as Markets that people can't help but talk about. sprucecollective.com
I was also thrilled to join my dear friend Carmen at 'Got Craft?' in Vancouver located at the Maritime Labour Centre. We shared a booth and tag-teamed it with her darling daughter Daphne, who was a major trooper might I add! CarmenWestCreative is a unique line of beautifully designed accessories including jewelry, bridal accessories and most recently, things for baby since the arrival of her precious daughter.
Pop-up shops are becoming more and more frequent. Or maybe they've been around for a while and I'm just more aware of them now... Either way, I had the privilege of being a part of one in December called the Solstice Community Collective. It was put on by Melanie Hull- A Vancouver based jeweler (MH Jewelry). For five days, a handful of unique, local artists came together in the Chinatown Experiment- 'A storefront dedicated to Pop up Shops, Pop up Retail, Pop up Art Galleries and Creative Events.' chinatownexperiment.com
It was a great mix of items that made it easy and welcoming for people to walk in and pick up a few last minute gifts before Christmas.

Remixd Clothing and Collectibles
Summer Moon Vintage
New Leaf Knitwear
33 Acres Brewing
During all of this, we developed better packaging for our mocs. When ordering a pair of Minimoc moccasins, you will receive them in a cardboard shoe box, the perfect size to house your moccasins as they make their way to your home.
Our logo and branding is hand stamped on the box using custom made stamps from pennypaperco.com.
My husband, Jeff, has been supportive of this business since Day 1 and his creativity is the reason it all began, (but I will talk more about that another time). His support, encouragement and involvement with Minimoc led me to make a huge leap of faith to pursue this business full-time. I left my position as a Special Educational Assistant to a child with Autism, of whom I have been working with for over 3 years. I was sad to say good-bye but am optimistic about the future.
The past few weeks have brought some new colours to our collection – Beluga, Orchid, Peacock and Stallion. I'm continuing to find joy in seeing the the moccasins on your little ones out and about and in photos. It makes my heart happy knowing that something that I created and put a lot of work into is being appreciated by you! Much love goes into each and every pair that I send out.
We've received several requests for accessories that match our moccasins. So Just this week we announced our simple hairbands with a leather bow.
Check out the bows in our Shop
Bow ties for the little Lads will be added to the shop soon.
In the meantime, I have been keeping up with your orders and working on new ideas to keep the momentum of this little business going! 2014 is looking bright!
Thank you for all the support and feedback so far, it has greatly helped us in creating a brand that you can feel confident and proud about putting on your child.
with great love and appreciation,
